I've only been here in the afternoon - usually for one of their delicious sandwiches. It is a very friendly place - everyone will talk to you. The waitresses/bartenders are friendly as well. If you're looking for a cold beer, this is the place, the beer is served in frozen mugs. There are several tables, but most folks eat at the bar at lunch time. They also do a fairly good take out business as well.

A buddy and I decided to stop in to grab a quick drink, after about 20 minutes sitting there the owners wife came up to us and made small talk ( the conversation was about wings she was going to order) two minutes into it the owner came up to us (who was intoxicated) and said, " what the fuck are you guys looking for?!" I replied with, " nothing, just came to get a drink" he then took his phone out and started recording my buddy and I with the camera light on for about two minutes, cursing at us, and making a scene. This sad mans insecurities and lack of respect to his customers will drive this place into the ground. I strongly recommend not patronizing this place.

I mean..."it is what it is" sums up a place like this about as well as anything. A crowd that ranges from twenty-something townies to 50+ year old townies. A basic beer selection. It's a local dive bar. If you're near it, and you like the crowd, hey, more power to ya. If you're not near it, skip it, and you'll be no worse for it.

Best bar in the area. If you want to hang out, actually talk to your friends, and drink cheap beer this is your place. And hey, free popcorn and peanuts!

Definitely a must-see if you're in the Lincoln Way/New Lenox area. $1 PBR's, lots of TV's, free popcorn, and a friendly staff. 100% dive, but a true classic.

So yelpers here is the run down. Want to know the local news- come on in pull up a bar stool and be one of the regulars. Open conversations of politics, region happenings, and home town sports is normal. Sports are always on a few of the tv's. They have great lunch food. The soups are homemade, I really like the beef vegetable. They have a lunch punch card for you to get a free lunch after you buy so many. Nice for those regulars. The open mike nights are fun and the people watching is a show too. Yes the pizza place is a plus next door for later food as an earlier poster said. If you are looking to be dressed to the nines and all flashy please turn around you will be secretly mocked and laughed at. The dress code is comfy just like the atmosphere. 'Good' people as we like to say working. Heck I think tomorrow I will bring my dad there for lunch and catch up with the news. Oh and the one drink I recommend off the wipe board is the Bloody Mary. Believe it or not it is really good for this hometown spot.

A little upper scale drinking establishment, kind of an older crowd, they serve grilled food on days, great burger and fries, prices are fair, if you want a nice place to unwind in a safe friendly atmosphere this is your place.

Went here last night for the open mic. Do not know what the first reviewer was thinking. This place is not classy in any sense of the word. It is a classic neighborhood dive bar. It is clean though. Everyone knows everyone here. It is like Cheers, except for the dive bar part. I know the guy who runs the open mic and his wife. They were the ones who asked me to come out. I was the outsider in this group, but I felt very welcome and had some great conversations. Everyone was super friendly. Crowd seems to be a bit older here. From late 20's to late 30's. With a few 50 year old guys around. Everyone was super cool though. I gave this place three stars for two reasons. They serve food, but only during lunch hours. Later in the evening, they were offering free swedish meatballs. I did not try them, but they looked good. And the other, it is just an ok bar. Nothing great, nothing bad. It is a run of the mill local dive bar but it is a nice place to have a few drinks and good conversation. They seem to have good drink specials. The one on Thursdays is $1 domestic drafts. This consists of Bud Light, PBR, and one other maybe. One good thing is, there is a pizza place right next door, and you can order from there and they will bring it to the bar for you. BOOM! Awesome. You know what, the review is now 4 stars for that reason. Some places that don't serve food or at certain times aren't cool with that. So, kudos to White Horse INN!
